... the generated reverb effects sound particularly natural, dense and lively. During our test, this easy-to-use plug-in proved to be versatile and was able to give drums and percussion, instruments such as guitar, piano and strings, and also keyboard and synth sounds and vocals a realistic spatial sound
This advanced analogue-style chorus plug-in is exceptionally malleable and does a nice job of emulating the classic bucket-brigade devices from the 1980s heyday of solid-state analogue processing
Knowing D16, I expected a high-quality reverb, and Spacerek does not disappoint. While Toraverb 2 is a bit out there, bordering on the rowdy and experimental, this is a comparatively clean and gentle reverb that’s nevertheless capable of beautiful sounds.
The modeled spaces are spot on, and that delay network sure goes a long way towards conjuring the echo-y and the ethereal out of the plug-in. Though, for grimy spaces, I’d have to throw some destructive processing on top or go elsewhere.
The way Decimator 2 changes sounds can in some ways be viewed as a filter that “lowers” the sound quality. It can come out similar to the effects that are built to be vintage filters. The main difference is that the quality of the track is not compromised by the Decimator 2, and it can do so much more than just provide a gritty filter.
Building a successful career as a music producer can take so much out of a person’s creativity. That’s why I love companies like the D16 Group for making products like the Punchbox. They make it fun and easy to create while still maintaining a professional sound that is recognized for its capabilities. Punchbox alone has received multiple awards and that isn’t even looking at their other fantastic programs
Now with the customization that comes with the Antresol, you can get a classic warm flanger sound on any track. D16 Group once again delivered a great plugin that delivers alongside others in their fantastic lineup..
D16 Group was aiming for a jack of all trades reverb that could become what you needed at any moment, and they hit the nail on the head with Toraverb 2.
D16 is beloved for their software contributions, and Devastor 2 is no exception. Whether you’re looking to add some grit to your recording projects or you’re interested in learning more about how filtering and signal clipping works, you’ll find plenty of usability here.
Now here we are full-circle, using digital methods to emulate analog circuits that were superseded by better digital equivalents, all while carefully recreating every flaw of the analog version.
All told, we found Syntorus 2 to be better than its predecessor – more flexible, easier to use and, dare we say, better-sounding. One of the best-sounding chorus plugins about.
When all is said and done, Syntorus 2 is an absolute joy to use. The engine is extremely fast, easy to understand and allows for a huge amount of creative possibilities.
