In Version 2 kommt Fazortan dem charaktervollen Sound des kultigen analogen Vorbilds aus den Siebzigern noch näher. Dank zusätzlicher Features ist das Plug-in jedoch deutlich flexibler als sein Hardware-Idol.

Klanglich hat sich bei Fazortan einiges getan. Vom dezenten Andicken über den Telefoneffekt mit leichter Bewegung bis hin zum Leslie-Effekt ist alles möglich. Die Detailtreue zu einem originalen Retro-Phaser aus den 70ern ist absolut gelungen und der Klang des Plugins ist wirklich hervorragend. Durch die Verwendung von zwei LFOs und durch die Auswahl aus sieben Wellenformen lassen sich jetzt aber Effekte erzielen, an die die Nutzer der emulierten Hardware wahrscheinlich nicht einmal zu denken wagten. Spätestens durch die Regler für die LFO-Tiefe sowie das Feedback und den Dry-Wet-Regler erhält man absolute Kontrolle über das zu bearbeitende Signal, sei es in einem Mix oder beim Sounddesign, genau so, wie man das von D16 eben gewohnt ist. Neben der übersichtlicheren GUI wurde vor allem bei der klanglichen Umsetzung der Emulation und der Flexibilität des Plugins nachgebessert. Auch der Preis geht mit 49 Euro für ein Plugin dieser Qualität völlig in Ordnung, besonders im Vergleich zu Produkten anderer Hersteller. Damit haben wir die Fragen nach den Veränderungen in Fazortan 2 und nach dem Preis beantwortet. Ob es sich nun lohnt, kann jeder nur für sich selbst beantworten. Fazortan hat mich überzeugt! Wieder einmal bleiben keine Wünsche offen! Einfache Bedienung, eindrucksvolle Effekte und ein leicht nachvollziehbarer Signalfluss machen diesen Phaser-Effekt zu einem wahren „Must-Have“ in der Plugin-Sammlung!

Phasers are pretty specialized effects, so this probably wonât appeal or be useful to everyone, but if you need the effect, youâd be hard pressed to found one that sounds much better than this. Itâs great on synth strings, guitar, bass, electric piano, and percussive synth parts. The extra LFO and LFO waveshapes gives it a much more organic quality than standard phasers and really adds depth to anything it's used on. Great!

Dank seiner flexiblen Struktur eignet sich das Plug-in für eine Vielzahl von Anwendungen: So kann man Klängen dezent mehr Leben einhauchen, den charakteristischen Klang eines Rotationslautsprechers simulieren oder auch extrem abgedrehte Modulationen erzeugen.

I discovered that playing with the phase of each LFO can alter the panning of the incoming signal. This side-effect may be used to mimic rotary speaker effects or as a gentle stereo widener/sweetener. Great sound, flexible and affordable â Fazortanâs definitely worth a spin.

They run the gamut from broad Klaus Schulze sweeps to pumping, percolating pulses. We tried them on everything from guitars and keys to drums and basslines. Dialling in custom patches is very easy, and more importantly, the consistently great effects encourage you to get hands-on and go beyond the presets. Fazortan sounds fantastic, featuring that thick, noisy swirtl that's often missing from digital phasers.
