All our testing can be summed up quickly: the SilverLine series is outstanding and unique in sound quality. â you might have realized this by our kind of passionate writing as well. [...] your production will get a lot more precious character with these â in fact, thatâs all SilverLine is about: giving a special touch to the sound, not being just another standard plugin series.
Silver Line effects and processors stand out from the crowd of vintage emulations. D16 appear to be less interested in your classic Neves and Pultecs, and more in the design quirks and technological limitations that gave older electronic instruments their individual qualities [...] These plug-ins offer something that is authentically 'vintage' yet also rather different from the bulk of what's out there.
Phasers are pretty specialized effects, so this probably wonât appeal or be useful to everyone, but if you need the effect, youâd be hard pressed to found one that sounds much better than this. Itâs great on synth strings, guitar, bass, electric piano, and percussive synth parts. The extra LFO and LFO waveshapes gives it a much more organic quality than standard phasers and really adds depth to anything it's used on. Great!

I discovered that playing with the phase of each LFO can alter the panning of the incoming signal. This side-effect may be used to mimic rotary speaker effects or as a gentle stereo widener/sweetener. Great sound, flexible and affordable â Fazortanâs definitely worth a spin.
Fazortan produces the usual whooshing and whirring effects associated with phasing and flanging, it also offers very subtle sweetening. The audio quality is excellent, and it can make an otherwise dull track stand out without taking over

They run the gamut from broad Klaus Schulze sweeps to pumping, percolating pulses. We tried them on everything from guitars and keys to drums and basslines. Dialling in custom patches is very easy, and more importantly, the consistently great effects encourage you to get hands-on and go beyond the presets. Fazortan sounds fantastic, featuring that thick, noisy swirtl that's often missing from digital phasers.
